Back story....
I started my engineering career long, long ago in the last days of analogue: editing audio with a scalpel and mixing radio ads and TV commercial soundtracks live to tape with the aid of a stopwatch and possibly a steam engine. Whilst at The Bridge studios, I was offered the opportunity to start a new facility in Wardour street which would be called Zoo. At Zoo, and then Jungle which it later became, I headed up the audio team and held the position of Technical Director and Chief Engineer from 1994 until 2017.
During this time, some fortuitous jury decisions resulted in a D&AD pencil, an Arrow and a Cannes Lion all for sound design. I also had fun sitting on various juries myself, including D&AD, British Arrows and Shots Awards.
Over the years I've worked with most agencies and many very talented directors, and have been fortunate to get to design some great spots. It's been my privilege to look after the audio for a bunch of fabulous creatives and producers, many who have gone on to become respected creative directors, heads of production or started their own agencies.
I now provide a bespoke sound design and project management service from my broadcast quality sound design and mixing studio in South East London, with real or virtually-attended voice sessions at a selection of home or partnered Soho facilities.
I don’t miss the steam engine.
