Sainsbury's "The Greatest Gift"

It's Chrismaaaaas!!

Directed by Sam Fell, "Greatest Gift" comprised a ground-breaking animated film lasting the full 3m20s advertising break, a 60" version, a completely separate 60" Food animated spot, plus cut downs and a Gogglebox tie-in 3m20s airing during the programme.

The main spot utilised the vocal talents of one James Corden, singing an original composition by Bret Mckenzie (from Flight of the Conchords). The project involved many memorable moments: re-recording James via ISDN from LA while Bret directed from Dallas, working closely with arranger Matt Dunkley and watching the orchestra record at Air Lyndhurst, visiting the set to meet the lovely Sam Fell, and a lot of fun recording the sound design elements. Particular note goes to prancing around on my hands wearing chopsticks taped to my motorcycle gloves for dog paws, and producing the robot rendition of Andy Clough's favourite scripted line "destroy!". Oh, and I shut my nephew in my boiler cupboard surrounded by duvets so he could shout "wheeeee!". Poor lad still hasn't got over it. Special mention to Rebecca Sharf and Kate O'Mulloy.
